Bruce Miles has covered sports in the Chicago area for more than 40 years. In October 2019, he completed a 22-run as Chicago Cubs beat writer for the Daily Herald in Arlington Heights, Illinois. Miles covered Kerry Wood’s 20-strikeout game, the Sosa-McGwire home run race in 1998 and is one of a handful of Chicago media members who can say he was there when the Cubs won the World Series. Miles also covered the Chicago White Sox’s run to the 2005 World Series. He has covered hockey, football, college sports and high school sports. Miles is the co-author of two books: Harry Caray, Voice of the Fan; and the baseball-themed novel, The Phenom.
